Community Day

Today is Community Day.  We will be completing lots of different activities designed for bringing people together and thinking of other people.
This morning we will create 50 paper cranes for Sakurako.  We have recently learned of the story of Sadako, the little girl who became sick from radiation poisoning after her city was destroyed by an atomic bomb.  She believed that if she made 1000 paper cranes she would be granted a wish and would recover.

We will also spend some time this morning writing Haiku, a traditional form of Japanese poetry.  For an overview of what Haiku is and some help on writing it, you can visit this page
